Over the last couple of years there have been many articles written about how toxic athletic apparel has become. The plastics found in just about all the top brands on the market contain phthalates, BPA, BPS, and PFAs—which are all common hormone disrupters. Hormone disrupters are chemicals that interfere with hormone function, potentially affecting development, metabolism, and fertility. As someone who has been wearing a sports bra for over 30 years, all year round, for hours and hours a day, in the sun, in the cold, under layers, sweating... enough is enough.  

 

This sports bra will hopefully be the first step in giving athletes an alternative in active wear and also peace of mind. It has been constructed with the least amount of plastic possible. I want our kids to be able to wear supportive cotton sports bras. I want to see this generation, and the next, and the one after that, feel good in what they are wearing without having to think about what their bodies are absorbing. Spend your practices in cotton and then when it’s game time, switch into whatever you need.  

 

It’s time for a change everyone. And this is my small part, in a community that I love. I believe in the power of the athlete and I want be a part of that change.  

 

So yeah, I am just making sports bras right now… but I will start small, listen, adapt and continue to grow. This is just a start. I will be expanding into sizes and shapes for all. I am a small company of one, moving as quickly as I can, but just know, I see you, and I will support your boobs and your journey, cheering you on the whole way.
